Jeff Bezos Predicts Millions Will Live in Space Within Decades
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has made another bold prediction about humanity’s future. Speaking at Italian Tech Week in Turin, Bezos said he believes millions of people will be living in space in the next couple of decades.
The billionaire entrepreneur, who also founded Blue Origin, explained that humans will move to space “mostly because they want to,” while robots and AI systems will handle the heavy labor. According to him, vast AI-powered data centers could one day float in orbit, managing much of the work we now do on Earth.
This vision puts Bezos in direct contrast with his longtime space rival, Elon Musk, who predicts a human colony on Mars by 2050. While Musk imagines Mars settlements, Bezos envisions enormous space habitats housing millions of people.
Beyond space, Bezos also defended the current AI investment boom, calling it a “good bubble” because it’s industrial rather than financial. He said, “There has never been a better time to be excited about the future.”
Whether these predictions seem like science fiction or the next frontier, one thing is certain: the world’s richest visionaries are betting big on space and artificial intelligence.
