Narwal Adds AI to Robot Vacuums to Monitor Pets, Find Jewelry, and Clean Smarter
At CES 2026, robot vacuum maker Narwal introduced a new generation of smart vacuum cleaners powered by advanced AI. The highlight of the launch is the Narwal Flow 2, a flagship robot vacuum designed to do more than just clean floors. With features like pet monitoring, jewelry detection, and baby-safe cleaning, Narwal is pushing robot vacuums into the smart home assistant category.
Here’s a closer look at what Narwal unveiled and why it matters.
Narwal Flow 2: AI-Powered Smart Cleaning
The Narwal Flow 2 robot vacuum features a sleek, rounded design with easy-lift water tanks that simplify maintenance. But the real innovation lies inside.
The vacuum is equipped with two 1080p RGB cameras offering a 136-degree field of view. These cameras help the device map rooms accurately and recognize objects using AI models. According to Narwal, the Flow 2 can identify an unlimited number of objects.
-
Object recognition happens locally first
-
If the object isn’t recognized, data is securely sent to the cloud for further analysis
This hybrid AI approach allows the vacuum to continuously improve over time.
Smart AI Modes for Pets, Babies, and Valuables
Narwal has introduced three standout AI modes that make the Flow 2 unique.
1. Pet Care Mode
Pet owners will appreciate this feature. You can define zones where your pets usually sleep or relax, and the vacuum will focus cleaning efforts there. The Flow 2 can also monitor pets in real time and even supports two-way audio, letting you check in while you’re away.
While it can’t guarantee your pet will listen, it does add peace of mind.
2. Baby Care Mode
In baby care mode, the vacuum automatically switches to quiet operation near cribs. It can also detect misplaced toys and notify parents, helping keep baby areas safe and clutter-free.
3. AI Floor Tag Mode
This mode is designed to protect valuable items. The Flow 2 can recognize objects like jewelry, avoid vacuuming over them, and instantly send alerts to users. This feature reduces the risk of losing or damaging small but important items.
Advanced Cleaning Technology
Narwal claims the Flow 2 offers four intelligent cleaning modes that adapt to different types of dirt and stains. If the vacuum detects a heavily soiled area, it can:
-
Return to its base
-
Wash the mop using hot water
-
Re-mop the dirty section automatically
The improved design allows for higher hot-water washing temperatures, which helps remove tough stains and improves hygiene.
More Products: Handheld and Cordless Vacuums
In addition to the Flow 2, Narwal showcased new vacuum models designed for different cleaning needs.
Narwal U50 Handheld Vacuum
-
Weighs just 1.41 kg (3.1 lbs)
-

-

This vacuum is ideal for quick cleanups, furniture, and allergy-sensitive homes.
Cordless Vacuum with Auto-Empty Station
Narwal also demoed an unnamed cordless vacuum with:
-
Slim, modern design
-
360-degree swivel head
-
Up to 50 minutes of runtime
-
Auto-empty station that supports up to 60 days of dust storage
This model focuses on convenience and minimal maintenance.
Why Narwal’s AI Vacuums Matter
Narwal’s CES launch shows how robot vacuums are evolving from simple cleaning devices into AI-powered home companions. Features like pet monitoring, baby-safe operation, and jewelry detection highlight a growing focus on personalization and safety.
As smart homes become more common, AI-driven appliances like the Narwal Flow 2 could set new standards for what consumers expect from everyday devices.
Final Thoughts
With the Flow 2 robot vacuum and its new handheld and cordless models, Narwal is redefining smart cleaning. AI object recognition, advanced hygiene features, and thoughtful modes for pets and babies make these vacuums stand out in a competitive market.
As AI continues to integrate into home appliances, Narwal’s latest lineup offers a clear glimpse into the future of intelligent, connected living.
