Lucid Motors Hits Record Deliveries as Gravity SUV Sales Surge Ahead of EV Tax Credit Expiry
Lucid Motors has hit a major milestone, delivering a record 4,078 vehicles in the third quarter of 2025 — its best performance yet. The growth was driven by strong demand for its new Gravity SUV and a rush of buyers taking advantage of the expiring federal EV tax credit.
The luxury EV maker, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has now achieved seven consecutive quarters of delivery growth. While still far from the ambitious targets set during its 2021 public debut, Lucid’s steady rise signals growing consumer confidence in its premium electric vehicles.
Lucid isn’t alone in this momentum. Industry leaders like Tesla, Ford, General Motors, and even Rivian also reported a surge in EV sales this quarter, reflecting a broader rebound in the electric vehicle market.
Interestingly, only Lucid’s leased vehicles qualified for the federal EV tax credit, so it’s unclear how much the incentive truly fueled sales. Still, with the Gravity SUV drawing attention and the Air sedan maintaining a loyal following, Lucid appears to be gaining traction.
Adding to its momentum, Lucid Motors has expanded into Saudi Arabia, producing over 1,000 vehicles for the local market and setting up a regional assembly facility. The company also secured a massive partnership with Uber, which plans to purchase 20,000 Gravity SUVs over six years for its robotaxi fleet, integrating Nuro’s autonomous driving technology.
Lucid’s marketing efforts are also getting a boost, with actor Timothée Chalamet recently signed as the brand’s first global ambassador. Combined with international expansion and a strong product lineup, Lucid Motors is positioning itself for a powerful comeback in the competitive EV landscape.
As the company prepares to reveal its full financial results on November 5, investors and enthusiasts alike are watching closely to see if Lucid can sustain this record-breaking momentum.
