Chipiron’s Big Idea: Making MRI Access Affordable and Available Anywhere
Medical device funding is booming again, reaching levels not seen since 2021. Investors are pouring billions into diagnostics and imaging companies. But even with all this innovation, one major challenge remains unsolved: access to MRI machines. Chipiron’s mission is to change that.
Traditional MRI systems are bulky, hospital-bound, and cost millions of dollars. This makes them available only to large healthcare centers, leaving smaller hospitals and clinics struggling to provide advanced imaging services.
This is the problem Paris-based startup Chipiron, founded by Evan Kervella, is working to solve. Instead of replacing the existing machines, Chipiron aims to rethink how MRI technology is deployed and accessed. The goal is to create affordable, portable MRI solutions that bring high-quality medical imaging beyond big hospitals and into everyday care.
By reducing the financial and physical barriers of MRI technology, Chipiron envisions a future where critical diagnostics can be done anywhere, from rural clinics to community healthcare centers. This could transform patient access, speed up diagnoses, and improve global healthcare equity.
The big idea is simple but powerful: make MRI accessible, not exclusive.
