Assort Health Secures $50M to Revolutionize Patient Communication with AI

Assort Health, a fast-growing healthcare startup, has raised $50 million in a Series B round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, pushing its valuation to $750 million. This funding comes just four months after its $22 million Series A, highlighting strong investor confidence in the company’s mission to automate patient phone calls with AI voice agents.

The startup’s technology focuses on handling repetitive, high-volume tasks such as scheduling appointments, cancellations, and answering common patient questions—freeing up front desk staff to manage more complex or sensitive interactions. With specialty care offices often struggling with long wait times and missed calls, AI automation could help reduce patient loss to competing practices.

Assort Health isn’t alone in this space. Competitors like EliseAI, which recently raised $250 million at a $2.2 billion valuation, and Hello Patient, which closed a $20 million Series A, are also tapping into the demand for AI-powered healthcare communication. This trend reflects a broader push across the industry, with companies like Abridge and Ambience Healthcare already gaining traction as AI medical scribes.

Despite having just over $3 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), Assort Health is scaling rapidly. Initially focused on orthopedic and physical therapy offices, it has expanded to specialties like OB-GYN, dermatology, and dentistry.

Founded two years ago by Jon Wang, a former medical student, and Jeff Liu, a former Facebook engineer, Assort Health is positioning itself as a key player in reshaping how healthcare practices manage patient communication. With fresh funding and growing adoption, the company is poised to accelerate AI’s role in improving efficiency and patient experience in medical offices.
