Amazon Cuts 95 Washington Jobs, Including Two Management Roles in Pasco

Amazon is trimming another 95 jobs in Washington state, and the latest round reaches into the Tri-Cities. Two of the eliminated positions are management-level roles at one of the company's distribution facilities in Pasco.

The cuts were disclosed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter filed with the state Employment Security Department, according to a report by the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business.

Where the Job Cuts Are Landing

While Pasco accounts for only a small share of the reductions, the layoffs are spread across several Amazon locations in Washington. Affected employees work in Sumner, Bellevue, Redmond and Seattle, along with some staff who work remotely.

The mix of sites suggests the reductions are not tied to a single facility or business unit, though the filing does not break down which teams are affected beyond location.

A Staggered Exit Timeline

The separations are being phased in over several months. Some workers learned of their layoffs in early September and are scheduled to leave the company in early December.

The final group of affected employees will depart by the end of January. Amazon did not state a reason for the layoffs in its WARN letter to the state.

Support Offered to Departing Employees

Amazon is giving affected workers the option to apply for other positions within the company before their separation dates. Those who do not land a new internal role will receive severance pay.

The company is also providing outplacement assistance and health insurance benefits as part of its support package for departing staff.

Following Last Year's Larger Corporate Reduction

The new cuts arrive about a year after Amazon eliminated 14,000 corporate roles from a global workforce of roughly 1.2 million people. That earlier reduction also touched positions in Pasco.

Amazon's footprint in the city includes a delivery station that opened in early 2025. The site employs as many as 400 people across warehouse work and delivery driving.

What the Latest Round Signals

For the Tri-Cities, the direct impact of two management roles is modest compared with the size of Amazon's local operation. Still, repeated rounds of cuts point to a company continuing to reshape its management and corporate ranks even at newer facilities.

For workers and regional employers, WARN filings like this one remain one of the clearest early signals of how large companies are adjusting headcount, often well before the changes show up elsewhere.
