Atorie: Fashion Startup Raises $9.5M for Affordable Luxury

Fashion is changing fast. Consumers want better quality without paying extremely high luxury markups. At the same time, many shoppers are moving away from traditional fast fashion.

This shift has created an opportunity for new fashion startups. Atorie, an AI-powered fashion company, is taking a different approach by connecting consumers directly with luxury manufacturers.

The startup recently raised $9.5 million in seed funding to expand its platform, build AI-powered fashion tools, improve logistics, and increase production.

Atorie Raises $9.5M in Seed Funding

Atorie announced a $9.5 million seed round backed by investors including a16z Speedrun, Night Capital, and Lightspeed Ventures’ Jeremy Liew.

The funding will help Atorie grow its manufacturing network and develop new technology for fashion shoppers and manufacturers.

The startup is also planning to launch its own in-house fashion line and help creators and influencers develop clothing brands more quickly.

Luxury Quality Without the Luxury Price

Atorie’s main idea is simple: give consumers access to products made with high-quality materials and craftsmanship used by luxury manufacturers, but at significantly lower prices.

Shoppers can purchase handbags, clothing, and other fashion products through the Atorie website.

For example, an Italian leather handbag may cost a few hundred dollars on Atorie, while a similar luxury-brand product can sell for thousands.

Atorie says its products are generally not traditional “dupes.”

According to co-founder Redouane Ramdani, the company focuses on the same materials, craftsmanship, and manufacturing expertise used by high-end fashion production.

Why Consumers Are Moving Away From Traditional Luxury

The rise of Atorie comes as the fashion industry is experiencing a major shift in consumer behavior.

Luxury brands have faced criticism for significant price increases in recent years. At the same time, younger consumers have become increasingly interested in affordable alternatives to expensive designer products.

This has helped fuel the growth of dupe culture.

However, consumers are also becoming more aware of the environmental and social problems connected to fast fashion.

Many shoppers now want products that are:

  • Affordable
  • Well-made
  • Trend-focused
  • Longer-lasting
  • More responsibly produced

Atorie is positioning itself between traditional luxury and fast fashion.

How Atorie Works With Luxury Manufacturers

One of the most interesting parts of Atorie’s business model is its relationship with manufacturers.

Traditionally, luxury brands provide factories with designs, materials, and large production orders. Factories then manufacture the products for those brands.

This model can create significant inventory risk.

Brands may need to place large orders to meet minimum production requirements. If products do not sell, excess inventory can become a major problem.

Atorie believes the manufacturing industry is changing.

Many high-end factories now have their own design and product-development capabilities. Instead of simply producing designs provided by brands, these manufacturers can develop products themselves and produce smaller batches.

This gives factories an opportunity to work with more customers while reducing their dependence on a few major brands.

AI Is Changing Atorie’s Fashion Business

Artificial intelligence is an important part of Atorie’s strategy.

The company uses AI to analyze fashion trends and understand what consumers may want to purchase.

AI can also help the company evaluate:

  • Fashion trends
  • Product colors
  • Consumer demand
  • Material availability
  • Production requirements
  • Inventory needs

Atorie is also using AI agents to predict demand and identify when certain materials could become difficult to source.

This could help manufacturers prepare inventory earlier and reduce production delays.

AI-Powered Shopping Experience

Atorie is also using AI directly on the consumer side.

Its website includes an AI agent designed to help shoppers create outfits based on their inspirations.

For example, a shopper could use a person, trend, style, or image as inspiration and ask the AI to build an outfit around it.

Over time, the platform can learn more about a shopper’s preferences and use that information to make personalized recommendations.

This approach could make AI-powered shopping a larger part of the fashion industry.

Interestingly, Atorie says it is already seeing more sales referrals from AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Atorie Wants to Challenge Fast Fashion

Atorie’s long-term ambition is to become an alternative to retailers such as Zara.

Instead of competing primarily on extremely low prices, the company wants to combine affordable pricing with higher-quality manufacturing.

The strategy reflects a broader change in consumer expectations.

People may still want trendy clothing, but many shoppers are becoming less interested in buying large amounts of inexpensive clothing that quickly loses its value.

Atorie believes there is room for a new category between luxury fashion and fast fashion.

From Snipfeed to Atorie

Atorie co-founder Redouane Ramdani is not new to startups.

Before launching Atorie, Ramdani founded Snipfeed, a creator-focused platform that was acquired in 2024.

His connection to the fashion industry goes back even further. Ramdani grew up in France in a family connected to luxury manufacturing.

That background gave him an understanding of how luxury products are designed and manufactured.

After selling Snipfeed, he saw an opportunity to apply technology and new business models to the fashion industry.

He later teamed up with Luis Angulo to launch Atorie.

Atorie’s Rapid Growth

Atorie says it ended last year with approximately $5 million in sales.

The company expects to reach an annualized revenue run rate of more than $55 million this year.

It is also working with more than 40 factories around the world.

The new funding could help the company expand this network while investing in technology, logistics, and production capabilities.

What’s Next for Atorie?

Atorie plans to use its new capital to expand several parts of its business.

The company intends to:

  • Improve its logistics infrastructure
  • Develop additional AI tools
  • Increase production
  • Launch its own in-house fashion line
  • Help creators launch clothing brands
  • Expand its global manufacturing network

The creator-focused strategy could become another important growth area.

Atorie wants to make it easier for influencers and creators to launch their own fashion collections without having to build manufacturing operations from scratch.

The Future of Affordable Luxury Fashion

Atorie’s $9.5 million funding round highlights a broader trend in fashion: consumers are looking for quality, affordability, and personalization at the same time.

AI could make this shift even more significant.

From predicting demand and reducing overproduction to creating personalized outfits and recommending products, AI has the potential to influence almost every stage of the fashion supply chain.

Atorie is betting that the future of fashion will not be defined only by traditional luxury brands or fast-fashion giants. Instead, technology could help connect manufacturers directly with consumers and create products that are both high-quality and accessible.

As Atorie expands its factory network, AI capabilities, and product offerings, the startup could become an interesting company to watch in the evolving fashion technology and startup ecosystem.

Final Thoughts

Atorie’s $9.5 million seed round shows how startups are finding new opportunities by combining AI, fashion, direct-to-consumer commerce, and modern manufacturing.

Its approach challenges the traditional luxury-fashion model while responding to growing demand for affordable, well-made products.

If the company can maintain its rapid growth while delivering consistent quality, Atorie could help reshape how consumers discover and purchase fashion.
