Google Expands AI Vibe-Coding App Opal to 15 New Countries

Google is taking its AI creativity tool global. The tech giant has announced the expansion of Opal, its innovative AI vibe-coding app, to 15 more countries, including India, Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, Canada, and Argentina.

Originally launched in the U.S. in July, Opal lets users create mini web apps simply by typing text prompts — no coding required. What started as an experimental project in Google Labs has quickly evolved into a hub for creativity and productivity.

“We didn’t expect the surge of sophisticated, practical, and highly creative Opal apps we got instead,” said Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs. “It became clear we needed to get Opal into more hands globally.”

How Google Opal Works

Users describe the kind of app they want to build, and Opal automatically generates it using Google’s advanced AI models. Once the app is ready, users can explore the visual editor, review each workflow step, customize prompts, or add new components with simple drag-and-drop actions. Users can then publish the apps online and share them with others.

Key Improvements and New Features

Along with the expansion, Google announced several performance upgrades for Opal:

• Enhanced Debugging: Users can now test their app step-by-step in a visual editor without needing to write code.

• Parallel Processing: Opal can now run multiple workflow steps simultaneously, improving efficiency.

• Speed Boost: App creation time has been reduced from five seconds to nearly instant.

A Growing AI No-Code Ecosystem

With Opal, Google joins the ranks of Figma, Canva, and Replit, which are also building tools for nontechnical creators. The expansion signals Google’s deeper investment in the AI-powered no-code movement, empowering users worldwide to build functional, beautiful web apps effortlessly.
