Rivian Spinoff Also Inc. Secures $200M to Accelerate E-Bike and Micro-EV Innovation
Also Inc., Rivian’s Micromobility Spinoff, Raises $200M to Fuel E-Bike and Micro-EV Development
In a major boost to the micromobility sector, Also Inc.—a startup spun off from electric vehicle giant Rivian—has raised $200 million in funding from Greenoaks Capital, according to Bloomberg News. This latest funding round brings the company’s post-money valuation to $1 billion, solidifying its position as a serious player in the growing e-mobility market.
Originally formed as a secretive internal team called Project Inder within Rivian back in 2022, Also Inc. started with a focus on designing next-generation e-bikes. Impressively, the company collaborated with Jony Ive’s design firm LoveFrom, adding a layer of design excellence to its vision.
This $200 million round follows a $105 million raise from Eclipse Ventures earlier this year when Also officially separated from Rivian.
Now an independent entity, Also Inc. aims to build a range of micro-EVs—from electric bikes to other compact electric mobility solutions. While specific product details remain under wraps, the company is expected to unveil its first designs later this year.
As cities embrace cleaner and more compact transport options, Also’s innovative approach to micromobility could reshape how people move in urban environments.
Stay tuned for more updates as Also Inc. prepares to launch its new wave of micro-electric vehicles.
