Lowes Stores Closing for 24 Hours at all 1,700 Locations: Here’s Why
Lowes Closing All 1,700 Stores Nationwide on April 20 for Easter
Lowes will be closing all of its 1,700 locations for a full 24 hours on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The reason? To honor the dedication of its 300,000 associates and allow them to spend Easter with their families.
Lowe’s Chairman and CEO Marvin Ellison announced the decision, saying, “In recognition of our teams’ continued hard work, we are pleased to provide a well-deserved day off so they can spend Easter with their loved ones.”
Stores will close at 10 p.m. local time on Saturday, April 19, and reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 21. This marks the fourth consecutive year Lowe’s has shut down operations on Easter.
While Lowes physical locations will be closed, customers can still shop online at Lowes.com. For those needing hardware in-store on Easter, competitors like Home Depot will remain open.
In addition, Lowe’s generally closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas, two other significant holidays. Keeping the doors open on holidays like Memorial Day and New Year’s Day.
