TikTok Launches Brand Safety Center and New Brand Protection Tools

TikTok has rolled out a new set of resources aimed at helping advertisers and sellers protect their brands on the platform. The package includes a dedicated brand safety center website, fresh guidance documents and several tools designed to flag potential risks.

According to a report by Social Media Today, the updates were announced last week at TikTok's APAC Responsible Media Forum in Singapore. The move reflects ongoing pressure on social platforms to give marketers more confidence about where and how their brands appear.

A Central Hub for Brand Safety Guidance

The centerpiece of the announcement is a new brand safety center website. It is intended to give marketers a single place to find TikTok's advice and guidance tools rather than searching across scattered pages.

The site features a series of videos in which TikTok's internal experts walk through key issues marketers should weigh when building a presence on the app.

New Playbooks for Marketers and AI Use

Alongside the videos, the center links to a collection of guides. Two of the newest are a Brand Protection Playbook and an AI Safety Essentials overview.

TikTok also used the forum to outline its responsible artificial intelligence framework, which sets out how brands should approach the use of AI on the platform. As generative AI tools become common in advertising, guidance of this kind is increasingly relevant to marketing teams.

Tools to Identify Risks to Brands

Beyond educational material, TikTok announced practical tools meant to help brands identify areas of potential risk. One is a brand perception insights tool housed within TikTok's business center, which brands can use to understand how they are viewed on the platform.

The company also added reporting options for copyright and trademark infringement. These give rights holders a clearer route to flag content that misuses their intellectual property.

Counterfeit Protections for Sellers

For merchants, TikTok introduced counterfeit protections. This is particularly relevant as the company continues to expand its commerce features, where fake goods can damage both consumer trust and legitimate sellers' revenue.

Combined with the infringement reporting options, the counterfeit measures signal that TikTok is treating brand protection as a commerce issue as well as an advertising one.

A Focus on the Asia-Pacific Market

The choice of the APAC Responsible Media Forum as the launch venue underscores the importance of the Asia-Pacific region to TikTok's business. At the event, the company also presented figures on its efforts to protect businesses across the region.

What the Update Means for Brands

For marketers and sellers, the new resources offer more structured guidance and some direct tools for monitoring and enforcing brand rights on TikTok. Gathering everything in one center may make it easier for smaller teams to get up to speed.

The broader takeaway is that platforms competing for ad and commerce dollars are investing in safety features to reassure brands. Companies building on TikTok may want to review the new playbooks and reporting options as part of their regular brand protection routines.
